Piglet's Small Heart

Dear Cornerstone Family,

As a small, private, Christian school dwelling in the heart of Southeast DC, the rising violence, failing public schools, and layers of complex brokenness threaten to swallow us.  It is easy to feel like P-P-Piglet in the Hundred Acre Wood, dreaming of heffalumps while floodwaters rise.

Yet, like Piglet, we are surrounded and encouraged by our own Winnie-the-Pooh, Christopher Robin, Tigger, Rabbit, and other loyal companions.  Volunteers, supporters, and prayer partners, we at Cornerstone are blessed to have you stand beside us.  You are a vital, sustaining part of the work that God is doing at Cornerstone.

In the words of A. A. Milne, "Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude."  Cornerstone's little heart is overflowing with gratitude for you, our friends!  Thanks to your generous support at the close of last year, we start 2016 off on solid financial footing.  May God bless you all mightily this new year for your faithfulness to the students and families of Cornerstone - and may He keep heffalumps and floodwaters at bay.

Please do visit Cornerstone sometime this year - we would be overjoyed to have you!
