We are looking for a photographer or two to offer their wonderful skills pro bono and capture photos of some of our upcoming events. If you (or if you know someone) are interested, please email Andrea at acoleman@cornerstone-schools.org
Big Wins in the Classroom!
We are celebrating the results of our winter MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test scores, specifically those of our high school students! 83% of our high school students scored at or above grade level in Reading and 77% in Math compared to 18 and 16% at our nearest High School. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and students.
25th Anniversary Celebration
This Spring, Cornerstone hosted a 25th Anniversary dinner. It was a joyous evening of fellowship, hearing from students and key figures in Cornerstone’s history, and funding our student scholarship program. A highlight of the evening was hearing Cornerstone Senior, Grace, reflect on her time at the school:
Chesapeake Bay Trip
Right before Spring Break, our 8th and 12th graders went on a multiple day trip to Port Isobel Island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. This trip was led by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and students learned about the incredible watershed and ecosystem of the Chesapeake. Highlights from the trip include exploring a marsh, dredging for oysters, student-led cooking crews, arm-wrestling competitions, and a night hike.
