Volunteer at Cornerstone
“From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
- Ephesians 4:16
At Cornerstone, we believe that volunteers are a vital part of our school community! We know that there is strength in unity and that it takes all of us—students, families, teachers, volunteers, donors—using our unique gifts and resources to accomplish Cornerstone’s mission.
We love seeing our volunteers match their time, talent, and treasure to the needs of our students, teachers, and staff. If you are interested in volunteering at Cornerstone, please review our current opportunities and complete the interest form below to get started.
Volunteer Opportunities
Lunch Buddies: Volunteers are paired with a student in 4th-6th grade with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships during 4 events throughout the school year. Two events will consist of volunteers joining in on a whole class activity, while the other two events will involve Buddies reading or playing a game together. All four events will include volunteers joining their students for lunch and an organized recess. The dates for the 25-26 SY are October 31, January 23, March 6, and May 1. Each event is from 11 am-12:30 pm. Click here if you are interested in becoming a Lunch Buddy.
College/Career Connections: Share your college and career experiences with high school students, and potentially mentor an individual student or provide site visits or internships at your place of employment.
Reading Buddies x Lions’ Den: (After School Program): Our daily after-school program for Grades K-8 runs from 3:00-6:00 p.m. The program includes snack, recess, reading time, homework help, games, and enrichment activities. Volunteers serve under the direction of the teacher reading one on one with a student or with a small group. No classroom experience is required.
Prayer Team: Members of the Prayer Team will receive regular prayer updates from Cornerstone, as well as urgent prayer requests via email. Prayer is a vital part of Cornerstone’s ministry to its students, parents, staff, and volunteers. We have full confidence that the Lord hears us as we bring our requests before him (1 John 5:14).
Special Projects: These are great opportunities for a small group or church. Projects may include helping us reorganize our library, sprucing up a classroom or other area of the school, and more!
Tutoring: Individuals with specific skill sets or expertise in our core curriculum subjects offer additional instruction to students needing extra support. Tutors are supported by our Academic Dean to work with students individually and in small groups on a consistent basis. This requires a weekly commitment of 2 hours.
