Kay Meyer was an amazing Christian witness at Cornerstone through her love, skill, and persistence in working with many students as an academic tutor, NILD Therapist and faithful friend over four years.

She made an indelible imprint on many lives, including Christopher Wilson’s, Class of 2020 and current full-time staff member at Cornerstone.

“Mrs. Kay,” as Chris affectionately calls her, met regularly with Christopher during her time as a volunteer at Cornerstone from 2016-2020; tutoring him in her “stairwell office” (pictured) and showing up to many of his basketball games (also pictured).

Sadly, Kay passed away on September 21, 2022 after a valiant battle with cancer. The depth of influence she had on Christopher, as well as many other students, staff, and volunteers at Cornerstone, has been felt far beyond her earthly life.

To continue her legacy of selfless service, in partnership with her loving husband Carl, Cornerstone has established the Kay Meyer Student Support Initiative to inspire other tutors and educational therapists to serve our students and continue a robust academic support program at Cornerstone.

The Kay Meyer Student Support Fund provides resources to provide student scholarships and to fund the staff, training, curriculum and facilities required to meet the academic and personal needs for each student’s flourishing.
