HELPFUL TIPS & PREVENTION

Prevention begins at home for students, parents and staff. Taking every day preventive actions will help keep everyone safe.

  • Wash your hands frequently

  • Wash your hands whenever you return home

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Stay at least 6 feet from other people

  • Stay home when you are sick

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

  • Keep counter tops and high-touch areas disinfected at home

    • Remote control

    • Doorknobs (inside/outside/bedroom, bathroom)

    • Tables and chairs

    • Video game equipment

    • Toys and games

  • Wear a mask when you go out in public

  • Students masks should be cleaned frequently, daily is recommended

  • Masks should lay on the skin where it touches, no gaps or spaces between the mask and the face. Masks should not hang down.

  • Keep hand sanitizer with you

    • Hand sanitizer kills germs on contact while it is wet. Once it is dry, it has finished. While hands are wet with hand sanitizer, be sure to get your entire hand: the front, backs, fingernails, wrists.

    • While using hand sanitizer in your car, use extra and put it on your steering wheel and gear shift. Or use disinfecting wipe.

  • Limit gatherings with others like birthday parties, weddings and social events

  • Limit travel. If you must travel, follow CDC guidelines for appropriate quarantining when you return
