Meet our Dean of Students and Family Engagement, Squire Newsome
Squire Newsome joined Cornerstone in 2012 and serves as our Dean of Students & Family Engagement. He brings more than 20 years of Christian Classical educational experience, spanning roles from middle school classroom teacher to upper school principal. Squire is passionate about learning and about helping students and their families experience academic, social, and spiritual growth in Christ. He sees Christ as the source of all life. One of Squire’s greatest joys is helping students develop the skills to persevere through hardships, navigate conflicts respectfully and restoratively, and use their voices to be heard.
Squire holds a B.S. in Biblical Studies from Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Divinity from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. Squire is currently completing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Psychology at Regent University, where research focuses on restorative practices, teacher self-efficacy, and school improvement in urban K-12 education.
Squire is married to Pamela Newsome and has six adult children and four grandchildren. Their favorite family pastime is hosting family gatherings, especially to watch and cheer for the Washington Commanders.
